Simplicity is Powerful
Polished Concrete
What is polished concrete?
Concrete typically has a rough surface. Polishing concrete is similar to sanding wood. We use increasing smoother grits of polishing pads to take concrete from rough and unrefined to smooth and satisfying.
Polished concrete is a great, cost effective, flooring option for so many different situations.
Schools, Offices, Restaurants, Retail, Warehouses, and even residential spaces like barndominiums and basements are all great places for polished concrete. Polished concrete can enhance almost any space with its visual interest, elegant texture, and ease of cleaning.
Your Options
Cream
Salt & Pepper
or
Full Aggregate
When concrete is poured and finished the aggregate is pushed down and the “cream” is brought to the top.
A Cream Polish involves the concrete being smoothed out. The concrete retains its fairly solid, consistent color.
A Salt & Pepper Polish involves the concrete being ground down to the point where the cream is partly removed and the very tips of the aggregate, usually small pebbles, are exposed and a “salt & pepper” effect is created.
A Full Aggregate Polish involves the concrete being ground down even farther so that many of the pebbles in the aggregate appear as though they were cut in half.
Each look is beautiful and strong. They just appeal to different aesthetic tastes.
Just so you know… cream polish is the cheapest, full aggregate is the most expensive.
